Unmasked Words

It’s the last week of October…

“WHERE ARE MY DOUBLOONS?“

That’s what Jordan asked me once upon a time. Ummm…

I may have consumed her chocolate coins? Oops? She’d had them in her room for like a week and I didn’t want them to go to waste?

Yes, I have a sweet tooth. But, it’s nothing like this Mastadon tooth!

A 6 year old unearthed the tooth on a hike!

Exploring can be rewarding. But also treacherous. A team of soccer players realized that during an outing into a cave in Thailand after practice. Monsoon rains trapped them in a subterranean lair for 18 days, waters rising all the while.

“13 Lives” is my favorite movie around October 31st. Yes, it’s non-traditional. The story is true: a mix of harrowing reality and supernatural miracle. The mission to save the boys and their coach is surreal. It was led by two British cavers. But so many more, even an entire village, played into the twists, turns, and maverick process that saved lives. If you haven’t seen this Ron Howard film, I highly recommend it.

The scriptures explain this. Paul writes in Ephesians, “I pray that He will unveil within you the unlimited riches of His glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with His divine might and explosive power.” (3:16/TPT)

When God’s Spirit activates within, a reservoir of inner fortitude is available. A supernatural selflessness pushes through.

It’s all about Jesus. I’m not sure the if all of the cave rescuers believed this. But, I am convinced that self-sacrifice over self-preservation points to Love. I believe it’s in our DNA waiting to be unmasked. I am confident that Jesus is the way. By His sacrifice we are rescued.
