Sugar Words

Energy, Hammers, & Clouds

“Sugar!” That’s my curse word substitute 😉 I’ve been fasting the past couple weeks, and the quick energy of actual sugar is kinda calling me.

“HIT THE GATE!”

Ted Bickell, my middle school track coach, had a mantra. He also had us eat a “World’s Finest Chocolate Bar” two hours before our race. Yep!

“Fuel!”

Coach Bickell seems to have been ahead of his time. Enter Rice Krispie Treats and US Olympic committee trainer Geoff Burns. Forget the sugar gels consumed by runners in mid-marathon. Burns recommends Rice Krispies. The sticky treats give the same edge, and are easy on the stomach.

Speaking of Olympic athletes, the dreams continue. My neurologist has a son who just may be competing in the 2028 games. The crazy part? His son just discovered his skill: the hammer throw. The senior was just horsing around with a friend, when they realized he was swirling and chucking the metal ball to ridiculous lengths! The new athlete placed in nationals after only months, and is now touted as Olympic caliber!

THE HAMMER THROW IS SUPER COOL. OLE MISS’S SEC ATHETE OF THE YEAR COMPETES IN HAMMER.

“Hotty Toddy!”

“Are you working hard enough for your dreams?” That’s a quote from Robinson-O’Hagan to some kids.

What’s really intriguing is that the Hebrew root for hammer is “halam”. It means to dream, and to be strong. “Hul-I”, a related root, means whirling or circular motions. Hammering is the work it takes to whirl imagination into substance.

Back to sugar. It gives you quick energy. I’m convinced that authenticity provides the sustaining energy. The scriptures read: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3 NIV).

Isn’t that the case with the newfound hammer thrower?Isn’t the wonder of revelation perhaps the cusp of a dream greater than ourselves? I’ve found that the more I pray and seek, the more the divine unearths the hidden aspects of potential. Are your capabilities greater that your present self awareness? What greater purpose is unfolding?

“Full of water droplets & ice crystals”

Images of clouds evoke dreams. They look so light and fluffy. But in reality, clouds are heavy. A typical cumulus cloud weighs 1.1 million pounds! Your dream has a weight on it. Yet, every time you draw closer to your Creator, the centrifugal force of “becoming” swirls beyond the present. It activates the authenticity you were designed to unleash to the world!

Hammer into those dreams this week!
