CURATED CURIOSITIES

😎 Well hey October! Time to get scared with spooky anxiety? Ummm…negative ghost rider. Let’s 180 roll it past the tower. I mean, what’s scary is a South Florida jack-o-lantern that molds from the heat and humidity! I had one that grew weird musty fuzz once?! But, it can be avoided. Simply spray the insides of the pumpkin with bleach or give the entire thing a bleach bath. You could also add a silica packet or use pumpkin spray. https://goaptive.com/keep-pumpkins-from-rotting Meanwhile, I really need to work on my carving skills 😆

“I am abstract art!”

"IN THE JIGSAW OF ANXIETY, IT’S A HIGHER ‘PEACE’ THAT CAN RESTORE.”

Sandra Shaw

💥From surviving the heat, to breaking the ice… Cue the recent Chilean Military Parade. What steals the show from threatening weaponry? Puppy love! This melts in a good way! https://www.instagram.com/p/CxdbTAitOOc/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

“Adorable”

🧠 So I always thought it was interesting that “Octo” means eight and October is the tenth month. It turns out that the old Roman calendar started in March. It changed to begin in January in 153 BC. The name stayed. Yet, I find another amazing eight to ten parallel. It’s ten octillion. Why is that a thing? It’s the estimated number of atoms in the human body! While the world around you is expansive, your inner world is as well!

💫 That awareness is a premise in an awesome book that released this week. “Mind Shift: It Doesn’t Take a Genius to Think Like One” is the latest offering from mindset expert and leadership coach Erwin Raphael McManus. It’s a must-read with rare insights expressed in a way you won’t find elsewhere. It flips the optics of thought through a paradoxical lens. McManus breaks down 12 tenets intended to destroy your internal limitations. I’ve read the book digitally, and can’t wait until my copy arrives. (then I’ll have the full TikTok review)

“I love this book!”

💥 U2 sure continues to break thresholds! Their new video for “Atomic City” dropped right before the band ignited its residency at Las Vegas’ MSG Sphere (to rave reviews). I wrote a college essay entitled, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.” The rest is history. “Miss Sarajevo” with Pavarotti and “Atomic City” are now on repeat on my Spotify. Plus Bono can REALLY write! One of my favorite books last year is “Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story.” Check out my review on TikTok. https://www.tiktok.com/@sandrashawe/video/7177363147936845098
