Not New Orleans you say? No way. Mardi Gras began in Mobile with the early French explorers in 1699. “Even South Florida’s Catching On!”
🙌 The good times are gonna roll with a different kind of route this weekend. The Miami Marathon is set for Sunday and so many of my friends are running! I’ve only ever done a half and was called “Thumper” because of my pounding stride. I also ran into a telephone poll in a race once 🤣, and still finished.
I’m knowing it’s that kinda gutsy fortitude the runners will tap into this weekend. There’s something so awesome about the crescendo of sacrifice and training! Just when you think you’ve reached the highest pinnacle, there’s more. Plus, when you’re cheered on, there’s more. The collective environment starts to work for you.

TO PERSEVERE IS TO ACCESS THE UNDYING NATURE OF ENERGY.
💗 A little extra help with endurance goes a long way! Nike’s capitalized on that. The Nike Alpha Fly 3 is now available to the public. It’s the shoe that Kelvin Kiptum set the WORLD MARATHON RECORD in just a few months ago. It was during the shoe’s development phase. The technology used is coined as “energy return propulsion.” It helps launch the runner into their next step! My dad’s not a fan, but I love the concept! Spring into action!
💥 What about a running on a road that actually generates electricity? That’s a thing now too! You’ll have to go to Detroit. The road actually charges electric vehicles while they drive on it. It’s the first in the US and is part of a pilot project developed by the Israeli firm Electreon.
MARATHONS OF ANY TYPE REQUIRE NEXT LEVEL DETERMINATION….
So many have been complaining about the marathon of cloudy days we’ve had in South Florida this winter. There have actually only been a few scientifically quantified “clear sky days” since the start of the year (yes there’s a scale). BUT, it’s always the weather of words in your head that bring the real light. Keep on elevating your thoughts and when they start to dim, reach out to your team! When you’re serving others your internal sky conditions brighten!

The word “marathon” is the Greek word for fennel. The plant grows on rocky terrain in the Mediterranean. It’s basically an exquisite weed! The bespoke nature of pushing through relentless stresses exacts beauty at a cost. If you find yourself in the weeds, know that your effort will flower into the essence of the human spirit! It’s like the verse. “As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has already been marked out before us!” Hebrews 12:1-3 (TPT)
