Have you ever had a day that started out like this…
“Ready to Crush It!”
But quickly turned into this?
“This too shall pass…”
I feel you! 😆 This happened with a sheriff’s office rescue drill, aimed at prepping for hurricane season. We spent almost two hours in an undisclosed swamp trying to escape.
Mind flow needed managing. Panicky thoughts, zipping through like drones, needed eradication!
“Laser Drone Defense”
I stumbled across this instrument on another story. I have it on good authority that it’s a laser that can zap enemy drones out of the airspace around South Florida. In the swamp I imagined my headspace as one of these. The air between our ears, and in the atmosphere, needs protecting.
Yet, I’ve learned that it’s not just our individual brain, but the collective “mind”, that must team together for success. Enter the 6th man!
You’ve got to rally positivity into your thoughts. Plus, you’ve got to learn from everything. The sheriff’s team realized they needed a longer winch for their new Fat Trucks. They discovered they must look for nearby trees for leverage during a rescue.
The learning is exactly why the officers apply the pressure and elevate risk. I routinely read a CIA tactic newsletter which I’ve found to be helpful. A recent quote in it stuck out to me.
“The cost of readiness is lower than the cost of surprise.”
Bottom line? You’re gonna get chaos. But your mental agility, earned through training, can equip you for success.

The winch during the test? Prayer. The tactics? Intentional activation of higher thoughts anchored in God’s wisdom. The practical execution with team? Patience, respect, and belief in the best of those surrounding you. I’m convinced that time on Earth is one big training mission for eternity. Stay the course, and bring others along with you!
