Little Words
Action, Atoms, & Art
Not many people can say they walked through live power lines into a burning car to save a man.
My friend Larry and his son can. Larry Pickett Jr. is a sophomore at West Point, and safety on the football team. He and his family happened upon a wreck where a man slammed into a utility pole. The driver was completely non-responsive and the car was about to go up in flames. Father and son acted immediately and dragged the man across the highway to safety just in time!

“Heroic”
TAKEAWAY? Epic moments are a compilation of all our life disciplines and choices. Listen to how Larry Sr. described it:
“These little things become you, become part of who you are, become a part of your life, so that way, in those moments, there’s no hesitation.”
Check out this video of the live rescue and reaction!
I’m convinced that carefully observing the world around us is a helpful practice. It gives us an intuitive sense of critical moments. When we place special regard on paying attention to others, character carves into soul. Intention transcends into all senses.
By the way, new research has revealed that even our cells can hear!
What are you telling your cells? Is your essence in need of restoration?
It’s a little by little concept. But there’s something about the journey that’s magnetic. In fact, watching the meticulous process of painting restoration is drawing huge crowds these days at museums.
I’m partial to this. I’ve followed the exploits of art restorer and Mossad spy Gabriel Allon for years. He’s the protagonist in Daniel Silva’s novels. The latest? “An Inside Job”.

“Quantum Mystery”
Espionage thriller aside, isn’t everything an “inside job”? Walt Whitman exclaimed, “I contain multitudes!” In scientific terms, that translates into an estimated 10 OCTILLION ATOMS in an individual human.

We have an abundance of energy to shape. The universe is vast, but so is the life within us!
“Relentless resonance reveals responsive art.”
The scriptures speak of this. In Ephesians Paul expresses, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (2:10) I am convinced that though the method may be painstaking, it’s worth it. Keep taking the little steps. Care compounds! Have a wonderful week 😀
