True heart isn’t just observed shape. True heart is expression of life and love. Rod Carew expressed this so authentically in a conversation with Ed Mylett.
Imagine encouraging an 8 year old kid who later makes it to the NFL. He dies tragically. Meanwhile, you (Rod Carew), have flat-lined 3 times on a golf course and need a heart transplant. You get the heart of the young man you motivated so many years ago. It’s keeping you alive right now.
We just never know how love will unfold its unbounded power in the future.
“The light of the heart sustains the branches.”
The scriptures capture this so eloquently. “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11/NIV)
I’m convinced that Jesus proved the invincibility of Love (God). He entered the time and space of our broken world. He literally exchanged His heart for ours.
Ephesians exclaims, “How deeply intimate and far-reaching is His love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!” (3:19/TPT)
