Healing Words

Rabbits, Skates, & Surrender

The rabbit heaved helplessly, gasping for air, stunned on the side of the road, unable to move. This beach walk required a major detour. I had to help the angel! Off to Busch Wildlife Sanctuary I drove, bunny next to my heart, calming down a bit. I’m not sure if the baby got hit by a car, or simply attacked by something, but healing needed to happen!

Animals can aid in healing humans as well. I witnessed this volunteering with “Heels of Love”, a local nonprofit that helps autistic kids through experiences with horses.

There’s a sophistication to stewardship that holds the power of change. Case in point? Giant pandas are now officially off the endangered species list. A dedication to save the bears shifted the extinction narrative.

“Heartfelt Attention”

From the black and white of pandas, to the gray of human experience, life mending can surprise.

“Unbounded Elegance”

Nobody expected this!

Liu “lived her best life” during the break and claims she now carries more control and essence over her art. Stunning!

Any rehab, be it mental or physical, requires innovation. The NY Giant’s Cam Skattebo took to the live gaming app, “Twitch”, to stay connected, after a season-ending ankle injury.

Bottom line, healing hits differently with everyone. Yet, I’m convinced there’s a universal ligament that integrates all expressions of process: Love.

“Healing’s arpeggio moves through Love’s score.”

The ultimate question remains: How do we reverse the extinction of our souls? I’m convinced that we don’t— but God does, and did, through Jesus, sacrificing Himself. The scriptures exclaim, “He endured the punishment that made us completely whole, and in his wounding we found our healing.” (Isaiah 53:5/TPT)

If you’re skeptical, consider Jesus healing the blind man—with spit! “Then Jesus spat on the ground and made some clay with his saliva.” (John 9:6/TPT) It’s been my experience that God can use anything to communicate, help, and reach us…if we’re open. “Do not quench the Spirit.” (1 Thessalonians 5:19) Take your unique steps and have a wonderful week 😄
