Happy summer from some of my friends at Del Webb Tradition!

“Talkin’ Hurricanes & Hacks”
I visited this Port St. Lucie community to give a hurricane-ready talk. I came away with an intriguing hack from a savvy storm survivor.
Think tea lights in a muffin tin! That’s how Karen and her family, hidden away in their safe room with no power, heated up food and boiled water. She claims it worked beautifully, and she never could have planned it. It was simply about imagining how to utilize the resources available.
That got me thinking. I’ve come to realize that when we open our eyes to the wonder around us, we can unlock more of what the world has to offer.

“Beautiful Lines of Defense”
Case in point? Farmscaping. It’s a practice where farmers plant strips of flowers in their crops. The floral zones attract species like ladybugs that are natural predators against the insects that attack crops. The strategy is slashing chemical pesticide use!
And no, the next photo is not a toxic pesticide cloud. Rather it’s some brilliant marketing! FIFA rules prevent stadiums from exposing their regular sponsor names for the World Cup. So Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium got creative!!!

“The Best a Man can Get!” 😉
Soccer is just one of those sports where people make a way.
BAGS AND STRING JUST NEED A LITTLE FORMING.
There’s even an abundance in the ways we can choose to relax, think, and pray. Check this guy out!
“Aaaaaaaah...”
“Determination maximizes resources.”
Elon Musk, our nation’s first trillionaire, expresses this concept simply: “When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor.”
The scriptures demonstrate this time and time again. Take the case the hunted infant, Moses, and the actions of his mother. “When she couldn’t hide him any longer, she got a basket made out of papyrus, water proofed it with tar and pitch, and placed the child in it. Then she set it afloat in the reeds at the edge of the Nile.” (Exodus 2:3/NIV)
A different kind of basket received a creative, human touch in the gospel of Luke. A paraplegic’s friends wanted to get Jesus to heal him, but the door was blocked with a crowd. “So they crawled onto the roof, dug their way through the roof tiles, and lowered the man, stretcher and all, into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.” (Luke 5:19/TPT)
Determination negated the improbable. In both passages this grit of intention grabbed new gain. I’m convinced God’s love pulses through all of Creation. Even what we perceive as finite, has an infinite origin from the divine architect. Are we activating this eternal actuality? May you have the most resourceful week!
