Duet Words
Celestial, Tornadic, & Miraculous
I’m driving into work at 1AM on Tuesday, and I see a white-hot blast of light blazing through the sky. My breath catches, I pray “thank you”. Then, I see a spotlight and think, well maybe it’s my mind playing tricks. I arrive at work, and my teammate, Vanessa, exclaims that she’s seen a comet!
“I SAW IT TOO!” I told her it was God, and a sign of something. The actual comet is one known as A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS), and it’s the brightest comet in a decade!
On Wednesday, we both witnessed something else we’ve never seen: a tornado outbreak of multi-vortex, EF-3 strength twisters. We tracked the deadliest of Hurricane Milton’s tornados, nonstop, through five counties.

I’ve always been a fan of double-teaming, ever since my short-lived try at basketball in the 5th grade🤣. Two are better than one. Two can see the same thing and have completely different perspectives. When you blend ideas, you generate more.
I’ve also always loved duets, especially those that combine diametrically different genres (ie, U2 & Pavarotti). So, heads up, Andrea Bocelli’s new album, “Duets”, is out next week. He collaborates with Gwen Stefani, Karol G, and Chris Stapleton, among others. Bocelli says, “Something intimate and deep is established between two voices that sing a duet. We singers are in constant search of colleagues able to give life to this alchemy.”

I’m convinced that hope is the gold of duality. At the same time of Hurricane Milton’s landfall, magnetism from a solar storm was traveling toward our atmosphere. Thursday night marked 24 hours after the deadly reality of Milton sunk in. Thursday night also marked an unprecedented northern lights display. The aurora blazed brighter and further across North America than ever before. The stunning colors and designs sang a different vibration.

This week, even though something destructive was happening on the ground, something magical was happening in the heavens. In the universe of our soul, we have the power to choose to embrace the miraculous, with God.
A few incredible examples stand out. There’s the house in Palm Beach Gardens obliterated by 140 mph winds in one second. 15 people were inside. Only one was injured.
There’s the boat captain who survived Milton by clinging to a cooler in the middle of the Gulf. He endured 25 foot waves and 90 mph winds. In a double miracle, a Coast Guard Air Station Miami Helicopter managed to find him in open water!
Then there’s “Trooper”. He’s the dog who was chained to a pole in a swamp during the storm. Flood waters had already risen halfway up his legs when a Florida Highway Patrol officer came to his rescue. The trooper hiked through the muddy grasses to free the suffering canine. “Trooper” is now at the Leon County Humane Society and on the road to recovery.

I’m convinced the best duet is that of prayer. Jesus says, “If two of you agree to ask God for something in a symphony of prayer, my heavenly father will do it for you.” (Matthew 18:19 TPT) We may not always understand how God answers, but belief that He will, must resonate throughout the concerto. Beauty can be unmasked in disaster. Pain unveils resilience. The crucifixion looked like the end. But it was actually the beginning. Stay hopeful with me this week! 🤍
