Yogurt, Pitches, and Trees

Hurricane Milton is bearing down on Florida’s west coast with a life threatening storm surge today. May we all elevate in helping those affected by this pending disaster.

“DESPITE THE FORECAST, RESPONSE IS A FUTURE VARIABLE.”

Find a problem, invent a solution. Observe a process, make it better. Find out where the crowd’s going and then see what they missed. All of these prompts have me wanting to be a “shark” in the tank.

My ideas? Well, you know how when you open a yogurt and it flies everywhere because it gets stuck on the foil? I want to design a different lid.

My friend Larry wants to figure out a way to save those random soap slivers and make another bar.

Steven wants to design a better lotion dispenser to so you don’t lose the last three quarters of the bottle. You get the picture. Small improvements can compound!

In actual shark tank news, a favorite of mine, Jamie Kern Lima, is gonna be a guest judge this year. So worthy!

Amazon’s going for a shark spin of its own. It has a new show, “Buy It Now.” Competitors will have 90 seconds to pitch products in front of a studio audience. If the audience votes the person in, they present in front of judges like Tony Hawk and the guy who invented the Amazon Ring Camera. The prize is $20 thousand and prime placement on Amazon’s new “Buy it Now” store.

DIFFERENT DIRECTION…DIFFERENT ANGLE

That’s what the start-up “Plenty” is going for. They are developing vertical farming. In 2025, the first strawberries from its 30-foot vertical tower, will be ready. The Richmond, Virginia based company says vertical farming uses less land and water than traditional farming.

“Plant Higher”

Growing into the future could even mean expanding a rare seed from the past. The Arava Institute has grown a 1000 year old seed into a 10-foot tree. The seed, nicknamed Sheba, was discovered in a Judean Cave in the Jordan Rift Valley in 1986.

Even cooler? Sheba, in the same family as frankincense and myrrh, may have developed into the source of the mysterious “Balm of Gilead.” The tree is now producing a clear resin that has healing properties, ranging from fighting inflammation, to viruses, to even cancer. This balm is mentioned in Genesis, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel.

TIME TRAVELS THROUGH THE PHYSICS OF CREATIVITY.”

Sandra Shaw

Jesus didn’t didn’t use balm, but rather his own saliva, to heal a blind man. Then, plot twist! Listen how the man responded when Jesus asked him if he could see. “I’m beginning to see people, but they look like trees—WALKING TREES.”

I’m convinced the energy of ideas flows through all of Life. Trees have leaves and blossom at a summit. The crown of the tree is responsible for making its fruit. What is our mind making? Are we seed-funding with generosity and good, or selfishness and superficiality?

Scientists who study the biological light in the brain (biophotons), have determined that our neurons communicate through light. Our brains may have optical communication channels. So what degree of light are we channeling? Is it likely that the more light that moves, the more enlightened/conscious/alive we are? Is that light mere intellect, or Love?

Jesus didn’t wear a halo. He suffered with a crown of thorns. “The servant grew up before God, a scrawny seedling, a scrubby plant in a parched field.” Light’s idea wasn’t to glow up. It was to heal. It was to save. “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you…” I’m convinced that Love is the creativity of the eternal. Let’s stride this week! 💚
