It’s not just about running on the grass, but appreciating the grass…(said from a former cross country speedster). Check out this shot from my 6 miler the other day!
“Pink Muhly grass”
Pink Muhly grass is not only enchanting, but drought tolerant. Plus, it can thank the Revolutionary War for its status. A Lutheran pastor, hiding from British soldiers, noticed the ground around him. That inspired him to take up botany, eventually classifying 150 species of plants. Pink Muhly is named in Gotthilf Muhlenberg’s honor.
I wore pink out to the 8 grass fields at the USPA National Polo Center in Wellington Sunday.
“At the Polo Grounds”
Polo is played on grass because of its shock absorption for horses during the high intensity, high speed game.

“Action!”
If tennis is more your flair, there’s now a grass court at The Breakers Palm Beach. Wimbledon has nothing on “Ken Thompson Center Court”. It’s irrigated from underground in the world’s first “CapillaryFlow” that achieves up to 85% water savings.

Grasse, a historic town on the French Riviera sustains the senses with scent. It’s the perfume capital of the world with fields of jasmine and rose.

But, it took a minute. Centuries ago it was a center for leather tanning and smelled like dead animals. That forced the tanneries to try to mask the putrid smell with local flowers. Those combined with animal fat, and perfume was born!
Problems can become process.
“Light feathers joy’s botany.”
Mulhlenberg had an epiphany while in the trenches. Curiosity fueled a new potential. Same with Grasse and the stench. Creativity ignited captivating fragrance. Even the grass surrounding us can hold promise, with the right connection. God promises that in the scriptures.
“Your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like the grass.” (Isaiah 66:4/TPT) Jesus even makes a command involving grass. With the crowd of five thousand hungering with no food, he tells his disciples, “Have the people sit down on the grass.” (Matthew 15:38/TPT). Five loaves and two fishes later, a miracle emerges. With belief and obedience even the grass beneath our feet becomes a sacred synchronicity. We can be grounded and still experience the supernatural!
Have an awesome week! 😄
