Gyroscopes, Crowds, & Names
“ARE WE THERE YET?”

“Middle School Uber Driver”
With me that might take more than a good minute. Let’s just say my inherent sense of direction is lacking. I’ve lost my car in garages, gone awry on running trails, and added more than a couple hours onto trips.
THANK GOODNESS FOR WAZE! Navigation Apps are made possible by GPS. GPS is technologically possible because of a gyroscope.

“Vision, hearing, & location”
AND WE HAVE ONE BEHIND EACH OF OUR EARS! Neurologists say the human brain’s internal gyroscope give us our orientation in space. (It’s the same tech that guides missiles). Our vestibule, as it’s called, also stabilizes our vision.
QUICK CONCRETE HACK: POSITION YOUR COMPUTER TO EYE LEVEL TO STAY AWAKE. OUR NEURAL CIRCUITRY ASSOCIATES FATIGUE AND ALERTNESS TO EYE POSITIONING.
“Back to the Ear Gyroscope”
Sci-fi’s now meeting realtime…
“For you!”
Scientists just announced that they’ve discovered how to bend sound to reach just one person in a crowd!
I believe there is something personal in the way we hear. In the gospel of John, Mary mourned Jesus near the garden tomb when she discovered his body was missing. She thought Jesus was the gardener when he asked her why she was weeping.
Verse 20:15 (msg), picks up: Mister, if you took him tell me where you put him so I can care for him.
Jesus said, “MARY.” Turning to face him, she said in Hebrew “Rabboni!” meaning “Teacher!”
Jesus spoke her name in love.
“Belief buoys sound minds.”
I am convinced that if we believe that Jesus died and resurrected for us, we can hear his love anywhere. Jesus becomes our orientation of life with our position in him secured eternally. I think Romans 8:39 (TPT), says it best. “There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!”
We’re on the way. 😊
