Stowaways, Marathons, & Strays
Jordan’s duffle bag felt so heavy. Who knows what she packed this time? Weights? I only gave it a passing thought as I hauled it into the car to drop off before volleyball.
Then I’m listening to worship and I hear a weird noise. Interesting effect I think. But then I realize it’s high-pitched and definitely not from the music. Thunder! I stop the car, race to the back and unzip the confined stowaway. Roar 🙂
“Thunder!”
Imagine gutting it out in a half-marathon, only to have the “Goat” pass you. No, not Lebron, or some other “greatest of all time”, but like the actual goat. Joshua, from “Taylor’s Pumpkin Patch”, disappeared one day. It turns out he simply wanted to race among humans. The goat accidentally entered the T-Railway Trek 13 miler, and ended up with a medal! Access granted!
“Pacer”
Snow accessed the Saudi Arabian desert for the first time in history last week. The Al-Jawf region experienced this unprecedented weather event after intense rain and hail swept across the Kingdom.
“Frosty Sand”
And while the camels may have been shocked by the cold, a herd of elk sure wasn’t shocked by a donkey. They adopted him.
It’s kind of like the third grade class in Turkey that adopted Tombi, the stray cat. Tombi wandered into the classroom one day and became an instant rock star with the kids. Their teacher was cool enough to let him make his home in the classroom. Now the students are more zealous than ever about school!

Heart Determines Access.”
Lebab is the Hebrew word for heart. It literally refers to a seat of intelligence and determination. Access may be denied on the surface. But, if your heart flows, a unique focus materializes. Case in point, the four men who got their paraplegic friend, on a stretcher, to healing. “….they had no way to bring him inside. So they crawled onto the roof, dug their way through the roof tiles, and lowered the man, stretcher and all, into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.” (Luke 5:19 TPT)
Scriptures indicate that animals were right in front of Jesus when he was born. “After wrapping the newborn baby in strips of cloth, they laid him in a feeding trough since there was no available space in any upper room in the village.” (Luke 2:7 TPT) I think the unlikely menagerie speaks to the integration of ALL life through a Creator’s essence. Do you ever feel like a stray? Does your heart betray you? Has it been shattered? I’m convinced that Jesus’ heart broke for us. He died as us, to save us. Access is up to us. Have a determined week! ❤️
